Swan Spirals

Everyone in the lair was a little surprised to see Amethyst’s first clutch bear only gray toned hatchlings. They were all even a little bit worried for the new baby dragons for how their mother might react to their… colors. Amethyst is known to be a little flashy, for loving her bright shiny scales and her shimmering royal wings. She took immense pride in her princess appearance and even scoffed at some of the less shiny dragons of her own lair.

But even Amethyst could not resist her own hatchlings, dulled in color and just a tad lackluster. Especially one little charcoal baby who Amethyst kept close and babied over. A mother shouldn’t chose favorites, but Amethyst couldn’t help but be overjoyed when her baby Stormhold decided to stay with her lair.

Should anyone ever make a snarky comment about her hatchlings she’s sure to rip them in two. Seems that even the priss of Amethyst couldn’t stand against the warmth of motherhood. Because to her, there are no ugly ducklings in her nest.
